The Foundation

To most people, the words “Mont-Tremblant and the Laurentians” bring to mind an international four-season playground where nature provides an idyllic setting for the best that life has to offer. In stark contrast to the exceptional tourist infrastructure at Tremblant and the strong attraction of the resort for wealthy clients from all corners of the globe, the region outside the resort remains relatively poor.  When the needy and disadvantaged are children, the situation is particularly tragic.

In 1996, Mont-Tremblant Resort president Roger McCarthy, with the help of Thérèse Barrette and community members who cared about the well-being of area young people, came together to create the Fondation Tremblant.

Peter Duncan, Michel Aubin, Neil Champagne and André Ste-Marie each took their turn as Chair of the foundation's board. Today, Sylvie Caron is the proud president.

In the time since the foundation was created 20 years ago, thanks to the generosity of its partners and sponsors, the Fondation has distributed more than three million four hundred thousand forty-five ($3,445,000) dollars to help disadvantaged youth in the MRC des Laurentides. The Fondation des 24 h de Tremblant – the foundation born of the 24h athletic events – is an important partner of the Fondation Tremblant..

The Tremblant Foundation’s main objective is to help the underprivileged children of the MRC des Laurentides territory to attain a better quality of life and develop their full potential in the areas of sports, education, art and cultural activities.

The Foundation is a registered charitable organization, #88790 1247  rr0001
